My heart belongs to Malaga

I had never really considered Malaga as a city break destination having thought like many people that there was nothing more exciting there than the gateway airport to the Costa Del Sol.  However it has recently been voted one of the best cities in Europe,  So when given the opportunity to visit the city for the weekend with Jet2 holidays I was intrigued.

With a mix of beach & city life Malaga has something to offer everyone:
pompidou centreMalaga for Art lovers – Malaga is the home town of Pablo Picasso, you can visit the Museo Picasso which houses the family’s collection. Next visit the new Centre Pompidou, the only branch of the museum outside of France, with its beautiful multi-coloured cube design.

Stay at:  Vincci Seleccion Posada del Patio – Currently Malaga’s only 5* hotel, they have a mini art exhibition in the lobby and take a tour of the old city walls that were found underneath the hotel.

El PimpiMalaga for Foodies – If you love good food & wine Malaga is the place for you. Try the El Pimpi restaurant a favourite of local celebrities included Antonio Banderas, or if wine tasting is your thing try Vinotech Los Patio the Beatas a wine museum where you can learn about the history of wine & olive oil and sample some of the local wines & tapas.

Stay at:  Molina Lario – Right in the heart of the city, with a gorgeous rooftop bar, this hotel is the perfect location for afternoon drinks down at the harbour followed by sundown drinks at the AC Malaga Palacio across the road.
